Vice Presidents of Young AFCEANs Hawaii Chapter hosted a Leadership and Mentorship Panel on 13 November 2014. The event took a page from AFCEA International’s Five Questions on Leadership series and provided a forum that allowed all Young AFCEANs to learn from senior leaders. Young AFCEANs heard leadership perspectives from Col Michael Finn, Deputy Director of Air and Cyberspace Operations and Chief Information Officer, Headquarters Pacific Air Forces; and Col Jeff Davis, Chief of Staff, United States Marine Corps Forces, Pacific. These two officers shared their views on leadership, discussed how leadership is about people, and how effective leadership makes a positive difference whether you are in a designated leadership billet or not. Afterwards, Young AFCEANs were able to ask about and discuss leader challenges and perspectives with these two leaders in an informal setting. This event sets the stage for the next year’s Mentorship Program in the AFCEA Hawaii chapter.

The next Young AFCEANs Hawaii Mentor Meet Up will be on Thursday, 7 January 2015, at 1600 hours, at 7 Palms Bar & Grille at 943 Valkenburgh Street, Honolulu, HI 96818.
