In July, the Hawaii Chapter welcomed Brigadier General Richard Simcock, II, Deputy Commander, U.S. Marine Corps Forces Pacific (MARFORPAC). Brig Gen Simcock provided an overview of MARFORPAC and the Marine Corps Rebalance to the Pacific. Federal Bureau of Investigation Special Agent Bryan Tepper gave a brief presentation on the FBI’s Infragard Program.
Kelsy Kai-Yamamoto, Waipahu High School, was awarded the AFCEA International Educational Foundation STEM Teacher Scholarship. Euvelyn Calma, Nanakuli High School, was awarded The Donna Russell Distinguished Service STEM Teacher Scholarship. Franklin Allaire, President, Hawaii State Science Olympiad, expressed his appreciation for AFCEA Hawaii’s donation to the program. Captain Kenneth D. Wiecking, USN(R), was presented with the Distinguished Life Membership Award.
Kina Poulos, a homeschooled student, was awarded Chapter Student of the Month. Melissa Pescatore, HQ PACAF/A60F, was honored as our Young AFCEAn of the Month. Jerry Cerny, PCATT Programs Manager, was recognized as Executive of the Month.
