Mel Ing was honored with the Distinguished Life Membership Award at a ceremony on October 11, 2016. Mel’s daughter, Jen Ing accepted the Award on his behalf. Mel is a Past President of AFCEA Hawaii and devoted a lot of time and effort into the success of our organization.  For many years Mel served as the Committee Chairperson for the Annual Education Fundraiser Golf Tournament held in conjunction with the TechNet Asia-Pacific.  The Board of Directors posed with Jen, in the photo to the right,  as she accepted the award.

It is with deep sadness and a heavy heart that we announce Mel’s passing the week following the above presentation.  Mel will be deeply missed, but will always be remembered for the legacy he left behind at AFCEA Hawaii. May he rest in peace.
